I've been hearing a lot of people in the Ruby community raving about Heroku. What is it? How does it work? Is it just for Rails apps?

Heroku is a cloud hosting platform similar to Google App Engine and others that let's you rapidly deploy massively-scalable apps using Ruby on Rails, Django, Sinatra, and other web development frameworks.
